Taking Care Of The Diamonds In Your Jewelry Pendants
Tuesday, August 25th, 2009Here is some advice that comes from the desk of Lynn Watson about how you can look after the diamonds that are set into your jewelry pendants. Don’t forget that although diamonds may be strong and resilient, they should still be looked after with care. Consider them like fine china. Without care and attention, they can scratch and chip. All those oils from your skin and cosmetics, hair sprays and perfumes can also make your diamonds very dirty.
There is quite a few ways to effectively clean and protect your diamonds. Try using a commercial jewelry cleaner. This will quickly clean your diamonds up to a nice shine, making them look bright and pretty. Dip your jewelry lightly in a tub or give them a full soak to give them an ultrasound bath. Another great way to care for your diamonds is to use cold water and ammonia. This method works well as it dissolves any oils that might have got stuck in and around your stones. A word of warning though! Before you dip or polish your precious diamonds, be sure to check that the other materials contained in and around your jewelry pendants are not going to get damaged when you apply these cleaning fluids.
